Name: Kaitlin Reichart
Coaching Experience: This is my 4th year with the program, 2nd year as Head Coach for the Girl's Wrestling Program.
Playing Experience: I grew up with my brothers who wrestled. I wrestled in a tournament in middle school (we can call it intramural) and won all my matches. I am the only undefeated wrestler among my siblings.
Coaching Philosophy: My coaching philosophy is to be able to make an impact/be an influence on the student athletes and teach them not only skills of the sport, but life lessons as well that they can carry with them throughout their lives. I want them to learn accountability and accepting responsibility for choices they make in life, being accountable and showing up not only for their teammates, but themselves as well. I want them to learn that with hard work, commitment, and dedication they can overcome challenges they face. Being positive about themselves and the team, provides a mindset that sees challenges as opportunities to grow as an individual. Mindset is everything, if you believe that you can't, then you won't, but if you believe you can, then you will do whatever it takes to continue working on achieving the goal you set out to accomplish.
Why do you coach at Gettysburg?: I coach at Gettysburg because I want to give back to a community that once gave something to me while being a student and an athlete.
If your student has any interest in participating in Girls Wrestling this year, feel free to reach out to Coach Reichart at kaitlinreichart@gmail.com.
