Warrior Track and Field athletes enjoyed success at this weekend’s District 3 AAA Track and Field Championships held at Shippensburg University. Senior Gabe Pecaitis and Junior Caroline Bannak both qualified for the PIAA AAA State Championships next weekend with their 4th place medal winning performances.

Gabe, the school and county record holder in the pole vault, cleared the bar at 14’9” in his specialty event to punch his ticket to states.

Caroline blazed to a personal best of 45.48 seconds in the 300 intermediate hurdles to tie the existing school record and earn a trip to states.

Also medaling - top 8 in the district - was Kye’Mere Robinson, who placed 7th in the triple jump with a leap of 43’6 1/4”.

Additionally, the three other District qualifiers for Gettysburg all established personal bests. Freshman Samatha Campbell completed a stellar first high school season, by racing to her personal best of 11:45.29 in the 3200 meter run. Junior Owen Clapsadle raced to his personal best of 1:57.54 in the 800 meters. It was the 4th fastest 800 meters run by a Gettysburg boy in school history. Finally, the Boys 4 x 400 relay of Josh Herr, Gavin Cole, Jahanzib Nasiri, and Owen Clapsadle recorded a time of 3:29.17 to finish with their best combined time of the season.

Congratulations to all of these fine Warrior athletes!
