In line with the Football games GOLD OUT theme on Friday, September 20th, Senior Zoey Haines was recognized for winning her State Individual Girls Wrestling PIAA Championship!

Joining Zoey on the field were our district’s superintendent, Dr. Jason Perrin, and our high school principal, Mr. Jeremy Lusk.

On March 9, 2024, Zoey wrestled in the very first PIAA sanctioned Girls State Wrestling Tournament at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Zoey capped off an outstanding tournament with a 7-2 victory in the finals over her opponent from Central Dauphin.

This is an incredible accomplishment!

This is the first sanctioned PIAA State Title in Girls Wrestling here at Gettysburg.

It surely won’t be the last!

Zoey, we appreciate the dedication and determination that led to your victory and GOLD medal.

The Gettysburg Area School District, and the entire school community, is incredibly proud!
